Academics

The Academy offers a host of academic programs that are in tandem with the current trends in the industry. The courses run for a period of two months to one year duration. The Academy has institutional tie-up with IFMR and Sankara University. The courses include;

Certificate programme in banking

This is a six months certificate program offered in association with Sankara University, Kancheepuram and approved by the UGC under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Kaushal Kendra. The program has a focus on rural banking and microfinance. The passed out students were placed in NABFINS, BELSTAR and Hand in Hand India. This program was offered three times so far and about 69 students have been a part of this program.

Certificate Program in Environment Management

This is a six months certificate program that prepares trained professionals for management of natural resources and environment. The UGC approved program was offered in partnership with Sankara University. 25 students who passed out were placed in Hand in Hand India.

Certificate Program in Social Entrepreneurship

This is a six months program offered in association with IFMR, Chennai. The program targeted at preparing young graduates to embark on the path of social entrepreneurship.

Careers & Internships

INTERNSHIPS:
Over the years, we have had students from diverse educational backgrounds — Science, Development Studies, Microfinance, Business, Arts, Medicine — intern with us. Our interns get to have a hands-on experience of the challenges faced by the poor; interact with various stakeholders, and come up with innovative solutions to combat the multi-dimensional factors of poverty.

Applicants for internship should submit his/her resume and letters of intent for the preferred topics, each not more than a page. For those applicants who are in Chennai or Kancheepuram, the interview will be conducted in person. For the rest, it will be through Skype at a mutually convenient date.
